Previously I mentioned that I accidentally gave my file root permissions when I cloned it from Github by using sudo. To fix this, I used the command chmod after having chown partially explained to me and the person changing their mind - I think they originally mixed them up - so I’ll write about both.

I did one of these for Ruby, and thought that now I’m concentrating on Javascript this would be a good time to do a similar post.

I’m coming up to starting the fifth week of eight of Founders and Coders, a free Javascript based bootcamp in London. It’s flown by and I’ve learnt so much. So far we have covered AJAX, Jekyll, APIs, MongoDB, Bootstrap 3, Node and npm, SASS/SCSS, and the pace doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

I have a wonderful (well… ish) new blog and domain name! Incredibly shiny and new! It’s amazing actually having built (some) of the functionality and look of this, I’m using Jekyll, a static site generator, which handles the heavy lifting and lets you still play around a lot at the same time. I’m hosting my site at Github Pages and got my domain from 123reg.
