Devember Day 6
A pretty frustrating day but one that reminds me that I really love programming.
A pretty frustrating day but one that reminds me that I really love programming.
Today I barely did anything on my personal projects as I was at codebar, 24 pull requests, your first pr and ladies who code event to help people submit their first pull requests. Personally I worked on Twitter Windchimes for a bit, deleting the chrome extension stuff and setting up the streaming for the app, though I’m unsure how I’ll test this without getting banned by Twitter for a while for making too many requests, but we’ll see.
Flip flop on the way I’m going to implement this, as it seems CORS prevents any way of interacting with the Twitter API in the browser side. I was fairly sure this was true already given my hacky way of getting the github contribution graph to show up on my project page.
I didn’t work on Twitter Windchimes at all today, as I was wrangliing with what I needed to do, and go stuck on needing an icon for the chrome omnibar to get started. I realise now I could just download one from a template, duh, but either way today is done. It’ll be the first chrome extension I’ve made so I’m excited to see how it’ll work out.
After reading this post I decided that my focus for the next day would be Javascripthers website (github) and Twitter Windchimes. I’m going to use Jekyll for the Javascripthers site so it’ll be things like faffing over layout and content that make it take time.
